Focusing is impossible with so many balls in the air!

Since I seem to jump from one thought to another with everything that we need to do here and arrange in the new home, I am going to try to focus on items that will be much different there, than here. The last couple of days I have been trying to suss out how to get rid of trash, how to recycle in VT (different rules) and how to compost. Yep, never thought that last bit would be something that interests me, but I am now fascinated by how many different ways and choices are to compost. I am used to putting my garbage down a shut and the recylcling in a bucket in the trash room, and not worrying where they go from there.
When there are lots of wild life that you don't want to lure towards your property, making a plan to get rid of rubbish becomes a larger issue and one you alone are now responsible for. I am keen on having a garden and growing some food, which is one reason why I like the compost idea. Since we are going to be in a colder climate, and not knowing the soil quality at the moment, I've been lead to many different articles and sites about the various possibilities.

First thing is to figure out what you can compost, where to put the compost, and what kind of compost to build.

And then there is gardening. I have so many ideas in my head but really am a newbie so know that my grand schemes will have to be scaled down immensely. I also want to be able to help support the birds, butterflies, dragonflies, bees and more with our plants and flowers. Husband really wants to have a bird feeder, but upon much research, this is quite a no-no in the area we are going to. We will have to focus on growing things that will attract the living, flying type, and those that will repel the destructive animals. Another feature that I would like to focuse on is year-round colour and diversity, since the weather is colder up there.
